Carmel Filled Brownies
Today is the start of my 3 day off little vacation. totally awesome, i know! I was jonesing to bake something, so of course, my first thought, what does Pinterest have? (i'm and avid pinterest user) Scrolling, Scrolling, Scrolling, i came across these delicious treats.
Now, i'm not a big fan of Carmel, at all, but everyone else loves it, and they looked like fun to make, (and they smell amazing while they bake too!) Here's the recipe:
Preheat oven to 350 Degrees
For the Batter
YOU'LL NEED:
4oz. Bittersweet Chocolate ( i used Ghirardelli)
2 Eggs
1/2 tsp. of vanilla
1/2 cup of butter
1/2 cup + 2 tbs. of Flour
1/4 tsp. of salt
Chocolate Chips.
1. coarsely chop the chocolate, and place it, along with the butter, in a microwave, (or stove-top) until completely melted. take a whisk and make it all nice and smooth.
-Add in Sugar and eggs.
mix it well.
-Add in Vanilla extract and flour.
Now go ahead and just take a lick, it's delicious, huh?
2. Take 1/2 of the batter and pour it into a 8x8 Greased pan, spreading it evenly. and place it into the oven for apporx. 20 min.
-Let cool completely.
Carmel Filling
3 tbs. Heavy Cream
7oz. of Carmel.( i used the carmel squares, about half the package which is around 24 squares)
-place in a sauce pan over medium to low heat.
it takes a while for it to get going, but don't take your eyes off of it for too long!
-make sure it's all smooth and nice.
immediately pour over the cooled brownies.
now pour the remaining brownie batter on top, spread evenly, and spinkle how ever many chocolate chips you want on them!
Bake for 15-20 min.
enjoy either all gooey, or more solid, after a day of resting.
also vanilla ice-cream with it sounds pretty good.
